ONG TAO = GOD OF THE KITCHEN
ONG TAO means God of the Kitchen in Vietnamese culture. ONG TAO is the God of the Kitchen that comes during New Year’s Eve – which is a very important and the biggest celebration for Vietnamese people – and blesses family gatherings, celebrations and particularly the food. As a personal messenger of the King of the Heaven he carries all (family) problems, concerns and hardship back to the heaven at the end of the year, to discuss them with the King of the Heaven.
